November writing challenge day 29

Hello, writing friends. So. Let’s talk about day 29. I spent the entire day with family, first at my cousin’s house, then traveling, and then at my mother-in-law’s house, and by the time I was alone, and ready to try to do the challenge, I was feeling quite poorly. I am not sure what was going on, but I had all the symptoms of a fever: feeling hot, chills, and very achy.

I laid in bed with my phone for 60 minutes and tried like hell to get my brain to focus on writing. I could not focus. I’d think about the story, then about how crappy I felt, and then my brain would recap things that happened that day, and then a chill would hit and I’d feel sorry for myself… and so on and so on.

Technically I should probably count this as a fail. But gosh darn it, I laid there and tried for 60 whole minutes. LOL.

So should I start over? Did I fail?

I am still feeling poorly, and the last thing I want to do right now is go try to work on day 30. But I am going to sit here and try. Like I did yesterday. I am not going to give up and lose on the last day of the challenge because I was/am feeling sick, and had a holiday interrupt my challenge.

Could I have done better? Yes. But did I try? Yes.

So I will count it, and I will go finish my last 60 minutes and I will be back shortly with my last November update.
